Ann “Annie” Campbell began her musical journey as a teenager, recording and performing original Lovers Rock songs as part of a duo with her sister Sonia. Their debut single earned an industry award for Best Reggae Newcomer, marking the beginning of a lifelong connection to music.

Born in Nottingham to Jamaican parents, Ann grew up surrounded by strong musical influences. Her childhood was shaped by time spent between the UK and the United States, absorbing the sounds of artists such as Diana Ross, Stephanie Mills, Chaka Khan, Teena Marie, Stevie Wonder, George Benson and Luther Vandross. Listening to WBLS radio in Jamaica Queens and recording the UK charts on cassette tapes at home created a deep and lasting appreciation for soul and R&B.

Throughout her career, Ann has performed with local bands including Soul Intention and Blackrhino, and has shared stages with artists such as Roy G Hemmings, Boney M and Jean Carn both in the UK and internationally. Drawing on a fusion of musical influences, she brings warmth, musical sensitivity and heartfelt expression to every performance.
